Major League Baseball (MLB) rolls into June with more LIVE coverage on ESPN2 of top games airing throughout the month. When it comes to the American League (AL) expect the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox to put up a serious fight to defend their title.
They'll have East rivals Baltimore, Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees to contend with, not to mention, among others, the Central's Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians and the West's mighty Oakland Athletics.
Around the National League (NL), last year's hottest squads - led by the World Series runners-up, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Atlanta Braves in the East, Los Angeles Dodgers in the West and the Cards' Central challengers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds - are expected to be joined by some top contenders led by the San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals and, given the season's youth, some surprise rivals yet to be determined.
