The MLB is on ESPN

Season coverage of Major League Baseball (MLB) continues LIVE on ESPN2 in May, and it promises to be another thriller of a season.

Last year saw the St. Louis Cardinals squeak into the MLB Playoffs as a National League (NL) Wild Card, where they promptly went on to defeat the favored Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series and the tough Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Championship Series on their way to their 11th World Series title over the American League's (AL) Texas Rangers.

Eleven is also the number of seasons stellar first baseman Albert Pujols played for the Cardinals, collecting two World Series titles and three MVP awards before making the move to the Los Angeles Angels this season.

The Rangers seem doomed to fall short on the big stage, suffering another heartbreaking defeat in the World Series following a 2010 loss to the San Francisco Giants. They return ready to challenge all comers in a tough AL that boasts the Angels, Detroit Tigers, and the Eastern trio that always delivers fireworks: the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.

In action this month are, among others, the Yankees facing the Rays, the Red Sox taking on the Phillies, the Rangers hosting the Angels, and the Los Angeles Dodgers facing the Cards.

ESPN2's coverage airs throughout the season, LIVE or on short-turnaround.
