Major League Baseball (MLB) is back, with April marking the first full month of ESPN2's season coverage.
Last season saw the Boston Red Sox live out a storybook ending to their season, going worst-to-first following a disastrous 2012 season to win their third World Series in ten years. Their victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in game six saw them take the World Series in their own Fenway Park for the first time in 95 years. That's a long time.
The Sox are expected to again lead a tough American Conference that's also home to division rivals Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians of the Central, and the tough Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers out West. In the National League, look to St. Louis to be joined by Central rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the East's Atlanta Braves and the West's Los Angeles Dodgers.
Top games this month include the defending champion Red Sox facing the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays; the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Cardinals; and the Braves taking on the Cincinnati Reds. ESPN2's season package of MLB games airs throughout the week, LIVE or on short-turnaround.
