Kamil Glik headed home a deserved late equaliser for Torino as 10-man AC Milan's fortune finally ran out at the Stadio Olimpico.
Jeremy Menez's third-minute penalty put Milan ahead but they then found themselves having to weather a fierce Torino storm, a situation not helped by the visitors' loss of Mattia De Sciglio to a red card before half-time.
However, with Milan's goal leading a charmed life, Menez's strike looked set to earn them all three points - only for Glik to rise highest nine minutes from time to power home the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
It was a battling performance from seventh-placed Milan to hold out for so long with a man less, but Torino will be disappointed they did not make more of their opportunities.
Wounded by their shock home defeat to Sassuolo in midweek, Milan were quickly out of the blocks and were awarded a penalty when Menez went to ground as he tried to burst between Emiliano Moretti and Glik inside the area.
Torino may not have been overly impressed by the referee's decision to award the penalty, but that mattered little to Menez who smashed the resulting spot-kick high down the centre of the goal.
That strike would end up separating the teams for the next 78 minutes, but Torino will still be wondering how that was the case as they created chance after chance.
Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez did superbly to keep out efforts from Alexander Farnerud and Fabio Quagliarella before Moretti saw his looping header drop inches wide of the far post.
Matteo Darmian went even closer on the half-hour when his header come back off the near post, with Alessandro Gazzi putting the rebound over from seven yards out, while the midfielder then sliced wide from the edge of the box.
Under-fire Milan then received another body blow when De Sciglio picked up a second yellow card after tripping up Darmian as the Torino man sped around him on the touchline.
From the resulting free-kick the home side spurned another great opportunity, Glik heading over unmarked at the far post.
Torino, who are battling to get into the top 10 in Serie A, will have wondered what more they had to do to get the equaliser, and those thoughts would have remained as they continued to draw blanks in the second half.
However, with nine minutes remaining they finally managed to beat Lopez.
Bruno Peres fired in a corner from the right and Glik climbed above everybody else in the penalty area to thump a header into the net.
