Luis Suarez nets brace as Uruguay coast to friendly win over Oman

Luis Suarez scored twice for Uruguay in a 3-0 friendly victory over Oman on Monday as the Barcelona striker continues to build his fitness ahead of a possible comeback against Real Madrid in the clasico on Oct. 25.

- Vickery: Suarez's return brings another dynamic

Suarez was banned from all football activity by FIFA for four months in June after he bit Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's World Cup match against Italy, but has been allowed to play in friendly matches following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in August.

The Barcelona forward opened the scoring for Uruguay in the 57th minute after latching on to Diego Rolan's through ball and finishing past Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, and then added a second nine minutes later with a delicate chip over the keeper from the edge of the area.

Suarez was substituted for Christian Stuani with 11 minutes remaining, and Jonathan Rodriguez made the game safe for Oscar Tabarez's side with a cool finish in in the 87th minute.

After the game, he posted (in Spanish) on Twitter: "Very happy with the game and to add important minutes... Congratulations @jona2118 on your first goal for the national team. Go Uruguay!"

The 27-year-old forward made his international comeback in the 1-1 friendly draw against Saudi Arabia last week, and could make his first full appearance for Barca at the Bernabeu against fierce rivals Real on Oct. 25.
