Gianluigi Donnarumma keeps clean sheet as AC Milan draw with Atalanta

AC Milan moved into fifth place as they shared the spoils in a goalless draw against Atalanta at the San Siro.

Neither team could find the all-important breakthrough, with Milan looking to continue their three-game winning streak in Serie A while seventh-placed Atalanta needed to bounce back after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bologna.

Milan forward M'baye Niang, making his first start of the season, was a constant threat throughout and could have put them ahead after he cut inside from the left but could only send his shot straight at Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sporttiello.

The hosts had 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to thank after the teenager made a number saves to keep the visitors at bay.

The Milan shot-stopper did brilliantly to get down low and parry Luca Cigarini's second-half header. Moments later the teenager was alert again as he responded quickly to push away Maximiliano Moralez's effort at the near post.

The youngster frustrated the away side once more, making a fine save with his feet on an effort from Grassi.

At the other end, Milan striker Luiz Adriano had the best chance of the game after his late header was cleared off the line from a corner.

The result leaves the away side in seventh, while Milan are unbeaten in four.
