Christian Pulisic scores as Dortmund beat Stuttgart to prolong title race

Borussia Dortmund ensured Bayern Munich will have to wait at least another week before clinching the Bundesliga title after a 3-0 win at Stuttgart.

Shinji Kagawa, Christian Pulisic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored the goals for Thomas Tuchel's men, who remain seven points behind Bayern at the top of the table with three games now remaining.

Stuttgart, on the other hand, are just two points above the bottom three with work still to do to secure their place in the top flight for next season.

Marco Reus skewed a shot wide with only Przemyslaw Tyton to beat before Daniel Didavi tried his luck from distance as Stuttgart initially gave as good as they got.

Kagawa gave Dortmund the lead after 21 minutes when he found room at the far post to meet Mkhitaryan's low cross unmarked to convert from close range.

Reus nearly added a second with Tyton getting a weak arm to his shot and only just recovering to punch the ball away ahead of Pulisic, who fouled him in trying to score for the second game in a row.

Tyton turned Adrian Ramos' shot behind for a corner, but Dortmund's continued pressure paid off just before half-time with Pulisic adding to his first goal in the Bundesliga last weekend with his second, turning in the loose ball after Mkhitaryan's shot was parried.

Mkhitaryan got his own name on the scoresheet 10 minutes into the second half when Ramos' header from Kagawa's cross was hauled off the line by Tyton only to land at the feet of the Armenian.

A Georg Niedermeier header was the closest Stuttgart came to grabbing a consolation late on.
