Schalke end poor week with a draw at Eintracht Frankfurt

Schalke completed a disappointing week with a goalless draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday which left them outside the European qualifying places.
After being knocked out of the Europa League on Thursday evening, Andre Breitenreiter would have been hoping for a reaction from his side, but instead they failed to beat a side who remain fourth from the bottom of the table.
Frankfurt hit the woodwork in the first half when Szabolcs Huszti's free-kick took a deflection, while Ralf Fahrmann had to be at his best to turn Alexander Meier's header away from goal on the hour mark.
Fahrmann remained the busier of the two goalkeepers as Schalke held on for a point against a Frankfurt side, who have now been involved in six goalless draws this season.
