Copa America champions Chile earned a first win over Brazil since 2000 in their opening 2018 World Cup qualifying clash in Santiago, triumphing 2-0.
Edu Vargas volleyed home in the 72nd minute before Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez made sure of the victory in the 90th minute with a tap in.
Brazil, without Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho or Neymar, were not overrun, however, with Hulk having their best moment, firing just wide in the first half while Oliviera spurned a good chance to equalise late on before Sanchez's effort.
Still on a high from lifting their first Copa America in June, Chile came out on the front foot and made most of the early running, with Vargas forcing Brazil goalkeeper Jefferson into a smart save after a low shot.
Brazil also provided early danger, though, and striker Hulk was inches away from giving his side the lead when his thunderous low effort flew just wide of the post.
The hosts stepped it up and forged out several chances to take the lead.
Vargas again went close with a turn and shot which whistled just wide while Sanchez, who had come through a pre-match fitness test, was denied by the crossbar shortly before the break when his first-time shot-on-the-turn had Jefferson beaten.
The woodwork again came to the Canarinho's rescue after the restart when a loose ball fell to defender Mauricio Isla and his crunching shot crashed into the post and went wide.
There was no denying Chile with 18 minutes to go, though.
Gustavo whipped in a free-kick into the box and Vargas gave Jefferson no chance with a superb volley at the near post.
Dunga's men had to up the ante and created two great chances to equalise, both falling to Oliviera.
First the substitute could not quite connect with Willian's cross with the goal gaping and then in the 84th minute he rolled an effort just wide after more good work from the Chelsea man.
And Chile put the game to bed in injury time when the superb Sanchez tapped into an empty net after a neat exchange with Vidal.
It sealed a first win over Brazil in 15 years and stretches their unbeaten run to nine games, having not lost since going down to Dunga's men in a friendly in March.
