Inter Milan rally to clinch dramatic Serie A point at Verona

Inter Milan came from two goals down to secure a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Bottom-of-the-table Verona, who claimed only their first victory of the Serie A season against Atalanta on Wednesday, were behind after eight minutes when Jeison Murillo opened the scoring for Inter.

But the hosts were back on level terms moments later when Filip Helander scored from a corner before Eros Pisano stunned Roberto Mancini's side when he headed home Luca Marrone's free-kick with 16 minutes gone.

Verona led at the interval and then scored a surprising third when Artur Ionita netted from a corner.

Inter were facing an uphill challenge to take anything from the game, but gave themselves hope when Mauro Icardi converted Ivan Perisic's cross shortly after the hour mark.

Perisic then scored his side's equalising goal with 12 minutes left after good work from Rodrigo Palacio.

Inter came close to completing a remarkable comeback but Pierluigi Gollini saved well from Eder before Gilberto then struck the post for the home side at the other end.

The result leaves Inter Milan fourth in the table and one point behind Fiorentina who they face next Sunday. Verona remain rooted to the foot of the table, nine points from safety.
