The Liga MX Clausura 2016 final is set, with Monterrey to face off against Pachuca for the title over the next week.

Pachuca edged past Leon on Sunday, winning 2-1 at the Estadio Hidalgo and 3-2 on aggregate over the two legs.

The hosts took the lead in the 22nd minute after Diego Novaretti deflected the ball into his own net and appeared to be well in control.

Elias Hernandez, however, struck a dipping shot from 30 yards on the hour mark to equalize and bring Leon back into the tie.

Leon goalkeeper William Yarbrough made a couple of good saves to keep his team in the series right up until the end of the match, with Mauro Boselli missing a good opportunity in the 90th minute and German Cano sending a left-footed shot just wide in injury time.

Young Mexico international Hirving Lozano finally settled Pachuca's nerves, netting the winner on the counter-attack deep into second-half injury time.

Monterrey came through an epic semifinal second leg against Club America on Saturday, winning 4-2 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate.

The final is scheduled to be played on Thursday in Pachuca and next Sunday in Monterrey, with the times to be confirmed on Monday.
