Rennes end wait for win

Rennes clinched their first win in eight Ligue 1 matches as goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Gelson Fernandes secured a 2-0 victory at Angers.
Doucoure gave Rennes a flying start when powering home a header from Pedro Henrique's cross in the fourth minute and Fernandes added the visitors' second just after the hour-mark with a low shot from the edge of the penalty after Angers had half-cleared a corner.
Angers, who slipped to a third straight defeat and their first at home this season, were handed a lifeline in the 81st minute when Kamil Grosicky fouled Vincent Manceau in the penalty area, but Thomas Mangani's spot kick was saved by Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costil.
