Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 PSV Eindhoven

Zenit St Petersburg eased to a 4-0 aggregate win over runaway Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven to reach the last 16 of the Europa League.

Leading through Hulk's first-leg goal, Zenit won the return on their home patch with another goal from the Brazilian and two from striker Salomon Rondon.

PSV missed a second-half penalty as they were unable to replicate their form in the domestic arena, where they lead second-placed Ajax by 14 points.

Hulk saw an early effort blocked by PSV defender Jeffrey Bruma and then thrashed a free-kick over.

Rondon and Hulk drew saves from Jeroen Zoet while at the other end, Zenit keeper Yuri Lodygin fielded Memphis Depay's effort.

Igor Smolnikov's long-range shot over the bar was of minimal concern to Zoet but Lodygin had to tip over defender Jetro Willems' blast from even further out.

But Zenit made the breakthrough, and doubled their lead in the tie, when Danny cut the ball back for Rondon to stab past Zoet.

Lodygin saved from Depay and Zoet brilliantly denied Danny as half-time arrived with no further score, but within three minutes of the restart the Russians made all but certain of their place in the next round -- and in spectacular style.

Hulk was the scorer, the Brazilian cutting in from the left before arrowing an unstoppable right-footed shot into the far top corner from 25 yards.

Lodygin prevented Georginio Wijnaldum from cutting the deficit and it only went from bad to worse for PSV.

Garay's handball gave Luuk de Jong his chance from the penalty spot, but Lodygin dived to his right to make a strong save.

Zoet's reflexes were equally good as he denied Rondon, but he was culpable moments later as the same player scored his second goal of the night.

Willems fouled Oleg Shatov, Danny took the free-kick short and when Hulk's swirling low shot was fumbled by Zoet, Rondon followed up to score.

The visiting keeper then saved from Danny and Hulk and Shatov's corner was headed wide by Luis Neto, but the damage was done for PSV.
