Marco Fabian's scoring run continues, 'Chicharito' can't save Leverkusen

PSV Eindhoven gained a massive win over their rivals, Marco Fabian collected a brace and relegation problems continued to mount for Granada.

Here's a look back at the Heroes and Villains from the Mexicans in Europe.

Heroes

Marco Fabian can't stop scoring! On Saturday, the midfielder helped Eintracht Frankfurt with two goals that secured a 3-1 win over Augsburg. In his past four Bundesliga matches, the 27-year-old has found the back of the net four times for Die Adler. The chase is still on for a Europa League spot and with a healthy Fabian racking up goals, Frankfurt might have a chance to finish in the top six.

Just when it looked like Leganes were about to steal an away point, Jonathan dos Santos provided a well-timed cross in the 91st minute that led to Cedric Bakambu's game-winner for Villarreal. With the assist in hand, Dos Santos helped his club sneak past Leganes with a 2-1 victory. Keeping in mind that the Submarino Amarillo still have to face Barcelona and Atletico Madrid this season, this weekend's three points will likely prove to be vital near the end of the tournament.

Can PSV Eindhoven make a late push toward a Champions League position? After earning a 1-0 win against Ajax on Sunday, PSV are now three points behind their second-place rivals in the league. Andres Guardado, who was given the captain's armband for PSV, emerged as the squad's main distributor in the heart of the starting XI while in defense, Hector Moreno & Co. were able to keep Ajax scoreless. Even if it is too little too late to secure a spot in Europe's top competition, PSV have at least hindered their rival's chances for a league title.

What a game between Fiorentina and Inter. On Saturday, the two Serie A clubs scored an astounding nine goals in the 5-4 win for Fiorentina. Carlos Salcedo, who previously went through six league matches without playing a minute for the Viola, took part in the fun with an assist for Khouma Babacar in the 79th minute. Although Salcedo wasn't able to make an appearance until the second half, injury problems for Fiorentina might provide the Mexican with playing time in the final weeks of the Serie A season.

Villains

After nearly earning a much-needed away point, Bayer Leverkusen allowed a late goal against Freiburg on Sunday and later stumbled to a 2-1 loss. Following the weekend's defeat, Die Werkself have now gone through three games without a win. Despite the fact that Javier Hernandez was match-fit, the recently recovered striker failed to have enough of an impact during his 63 minutes on the pitch. Although it might be too late to save Leverkusen's season, Mexico fans will keep their fingers crossed that the "Little Pea" rediscovers his scoring form before a busy summer for the national team.

All signs point to a demotion for La Liga's Granada. After losing 2-0 to Sevilla on Friday, El Grana are now sitting in second-to-last place of the league table with 20 points. Credit should be given to Guillermo Ochoa for his 10 saves but with an incessant amount of shots from the opposition, there wasn't much else that the goalkeeper could do.
