Spain rout South Korea behind Nolito, Alvaro Morata goals

Alvaro Morata and Nolito each scored twice as European champions Spain warmed up for their title defence with a 6-1 win over South Korea in Salzburg.

Manchester City's David Silva and Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea were also on target as Spain romped to victory in their penultimate friendly before Euro 2016.

Ju Se-jong scored a consolation for South Korea at Red Bull Arena.

Spain's near-embarrassment of options, which saw Diego Costa and Fernando Torres among those left out of head coach Vicente del Bosque's squad for France, was evident in the starting line-up.

Hector Bellerin of Arsenal started at right-back, in a defence which included Gerard Pique and Cesar Azpilicueta, who was deployed at left-back.

Silva, Fabregas and Andres Iniesta were in midfield and it was the Manchester City man who belatedly opened the scoring for Spain after 31 minutes, but only after Tottenham's Son Heung-min spurned an opportunity to beat Iker Casillas.

A sumptuous, curling left-footed free-kick from 25 yards out on the right found the top corner as Silva put Spain in front.

A second goal followed soon after when Fabregas fired into the bottom corner from Morata's pass.

And Nolito had his first after 38 minutes after being found by Azpilicueta.

Five minutes into the second half -- and after a host of substitutions -- Spain had their fourth.

Thiago Alcantara's corner was met by Morata, who headed in from close range.

Four minutes later Bellerin found Nolito, who tucked in his second of the night, justifying his selection ahead of Costa.

But it was South Korea who would score next. Ju's deflected shot beat goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who was making his debut as a replacement for Casillas.

Morata netted again in the closing stages, tucking in from close range.

Spain play Georgia in Getafe on Tuesday before beginning their Euro 2016 Group D campaign on June 13 against Czech Republic in Toulouse.

Spain play Turkey in Nice on June 17 and complete the group stage against Croatia on June 21.

Del Bosque's men won the 2010 World Cup in between victories at the 2008 European Championships and 2012 tournament, which was held in Poland and Ukraine.

They are seeking a third straight win in the European tournament.
