Club America knocks Seattle Sounders out of CONCACAF Champions League

Reigning champion America rallied to defeat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 on Wednesday night to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals for the second year in a row.

Paraguayan Pablo Aguilar scored on his own goal in the 41st minute, but Colombian Carlos Darwin Quintero leveled things in the 42nd and Oribe Peralta put Las Aguilas ahead in the 45th.

Colombian Andres Andrade sealed the score in the 50th minute for America, which won the series 5-3 on aggregate and will play Santos in one of the semifinals.

America is trying to become the first team to win back-to-back championships since Monterrey (2010-11 until 2012-13).

Seattle has now lost in the semifinals for the second time in their history.
