Tigres corta su mala racha ante Angelinos
DETROIT, Michigan, EE.UU. -- Max Scherzer ponchó a nueve adversarios en siete entradas y los Tigres de Detroit finalmente vencieron a los Angelinos de Los Angeles, superándolos el sábado por 5-2.
Detroit había perdido 10 juegos consecutivos ante los Angelinos y no los habían derrotado desde el 26 de agosto de 2012. Los Tigres lograron cortar esa mala racha gracias a una apertura sólida de Scherzer y cuadrangulares de Nick Castellanos y del venezolano Víctor Martínez.
El dominicano Albert Pujols conectó el 498º cuadrangular de su carrera, un cañonazo solitario en el noveno capítulo.
Scherzer (1-1) permitió una carrera y tres hits; dio dos pasaportes. El vigente Cy Young de la Liga Americana obtuvo su primera victoria de la temporada ponchando a Mike Trout tres veces y a Pujols en dos ocasiones.
C.J. Wilson (2-2) recibió tres carreras limpias en cinco episodios.
J.B. Shuck inició el juego con un batazo sobre la cerca, pero eso fue todo lo que anotaron los Angelinos antes del hit de vuelta entera de Pujols, quien el viernes también conectó cuadrangular. El primera base suma seis en la campaña.
