Con 4 jonrones, Mets superan a Yankees
NUEVA YORK -- Chris Young quebró el empate con un jonrón, Jenrry Mejia respondió con creces en el bullpen y los Mets de Nueva York despertaron los bates para vencer el lunes 9-7 a sus vecinos Yankees.
Curtis Granderson conectó un jonrón en su regreso al Yankee Stadium, en tanto Eric Young Jr. y Travis d'Arnaud también la sacaron del parque en una noche en la que los Mets remontaron dos veces déficits de tres carreras.
El primera base Lucas Duda se destacó en la defensa con un par de espectaculares jugadas, incluyendo el inicio del doble play con corredores en las esquinas que puso fin el juego. Duda fildeó limpiamente un rodado fuerte de Brian McCann.
Aprovechando que el estadio de los Yankees tiene dimensiones favorables para el bateo de larga distancia, en vez de su vasto Citi Field, los Mets dispararon cuatro jonrones en un mismo juego por primera vez desde el 3 de mayo de 2013 en Atlanta.
Brett Gardner conectó un grand slam ante Bartolo Colón, el abridor dominicano de los Mets, temprano en el partido.
Asignado al bullpen previo al juego, el dominicano Mejía (4-0) entró en el séptimo para su primera aparición en relevo desde septiembre de 2012. Ponchó a Alfonso Soriano con tres pitcheos y colgó un cero en el octavo. Mejía se dio gusto con la función de relevista, luego que en los días previas se resistió a que lo sacaran de la rotación por miedo a sufrir una lesión en el brazo derecho que se operó.
