García conecta HR y Medias Blancas barre
OAKLAND, California -- Avisaíl García sacudió un jonrón de dos carreras, Alexei Ramírez produjo un par de carreras y Jeff Samardzija cubrió ocho innings para que los Medias Blancas de Chicago derrotasen el domingo 7-3 a los Atléticos y completar su primera barrida en Oakland en 18 años.
José Abreu y Gordon Beckham también remolcaron carreras para los Medias Blancas, que ganaron su sexto en fila y alcanzaron el porcentaje de .500 por primera vez esta temporada.
El venezolano García bateó su cuarto jonrón del año ante el cerrador de los Atléticos Tyler Clippard en el noveno.
Max Muncy conectó el primer jonrón de su carrera, un batazo de dos carreras en el octavo, para unos Atléticos que perdieron su cuarto en fila y tienen foja de 1-12 de día.
Samardzija (3-2) permitió tres carreras y ocho hits. Concedió tres boletos y ponchó a cinco en su retorno a Oakland, donde el año pasado cumplió 16 aperturas con los Atléticos.
Scott Kazmir (2-2) fue reemplazado con un out en el quinto tras tolerar cinco carreras --tres limpias-- y siete hits.
