Deportivo La Coruña 0-0 Espanyol

Deportivo La Coruna are one point above the relegation zone after they were held to a goalless draw at home by Espanyol.
The Galicians created more chances than the visitors although perhaps the clearest opportunities fell to the Catalans, but Depor goalkeeper Fabricio and his opposite number Kiko Casilla produced strong displays to keep the score goalless.
Victor Fernandez's side are now in 16th and one point above Levante, who are in the bottom three behind 17th-placed Almeria on goal difference.
Espanyol meanwhile move on to 34 points but have not won any of their last three matches, while Deportivo are now without a win in six league games.
Espanyol were without their pivotal captain Sergio Garcia due to an ankle injury so Salva Sevilla took his place in the team, with Felipe Caicedo playing up front on his own.
Fabricio reacted quickly to push away a quickly-taken free-kick by Jose Canas after 12 minutes, and the goalkeeper also made himself big to deny Sevilla at point-blank range, with the rebound dropping to Victor Sanchez in an offside position, so Caicedo's subsequent tap in was correctly ruled offside.
Then it was Casilla's turn to save his side. A terrible clearance by Alvaro Gonzalez allowed Ivan Cavaleiro to sneak in towards goal but the Spain international was ready and blocked the shot.
Depor created another glorious chance midway through the second half. Oriol Riera chested a high ball in the box and shaped to shoot but Hector Moreno did enough to put the striker off and his shot went over the bar.
Then Casilla came to his team's aid for a second time. Alex Bergantinos lifted the ball over the Espanyol defence and into the path of Cavaleiro, but again the Portuguese was denied by Casilla.
But the best chance of the game ended up falling to Espanyol. With eight minutes remaining Lucas Vazquez swung in a free-kick that was flicked towards the far post for Moreno to meet and the Mexican's shot came off the underside of the bar and bounced along the goal line but not over it.
Anaitz Arbilla then tried his luck from a free-kick in the last minute but Fabricio was equal to it.
